Pensionado: USD 1,000 Pension
The Costa Rica Pensionado Visa is granted with proof of a guaranteed lifetime pension income of at least USD 1,000 per month, one of the lowest income requirements in the world. Residence is granted for two years and renewed; at least four months per year in the country are required to maintain status. For those without a pension, the rentista alternative (~USD 2,500/month) is also available.
