2026 Program Guide
Latvia Golden Visa & Residence Permit
The Latvia Golden Visa offers EU residence through a EUR 250,000 real estate investment, a EUR 280,000 bank deposit, EUR 250,000 in government bonds, or a business investment from EUR 50,000. Parliament has approved amendments that, if signed, would remove the real estate, securities and deposit routes from 1 January 2027, leaving business investment as the only option. It grants residence initially valid for 5 years and is one of the most affordable EU residence routes.

Three Investment Routes
Latvia offers three main routes: a EUR 250,000 real estate investment, a EUR 280,000 bank deposit (plus a government fee), or a business investment from EUR 50,000 in a small company. The business route stands out for providing EU residence at the lowest entry cost; the real estate route offers property ownership and potential rental income.
Costs and Government Fees
In addition to the investment amount, government fees apply; for example, in the real estate route, a one-time government fee is paid based on the property value. In the bank deposit route, approximately EUR 25,000 in fees applies in addition to the investment, and in the business route, approximately EUR 10,000. Total cost planning should include these items.
From Residence to Citizenship
The golden visa initially grants 5 years of residence; after five years, permanent residence can be applied for, and after a total of 10 years of legal residence, citizenship. As Latvia permits dual citizenship only with certain countries (EU, EFTA, NATO members, etc.), the situation should be separately verified for Turkish citizens.
